Reno Dry & Reno Dry 2R

RENO DRY:

RENO DRY is a clear siloxane silicone resin to waterproof buildings that are in good condition but suffer from penetrating damp.

RENO DRY 2R:

RENO DRY 2R is a heavy duty water repellent clear sealer, a further advancement on RENO DRY with 2 extra weatherproof resins added. Ideal for older buildings, where a stabilised bonded and sealed breathable surface is required. Suitable to be used on stone, masonry, brick, mortar and concrete.

ADVANTAGES:

RENO DRY 2R has all the advantages of RENO DRY, plus some more important features:

Reduces spalling or flaking masonry.
Reinforces and hold deteriorating stucco that cannot be sandblasted or otherwise cleaned.
Ideal for sandblasted stone and brick that has become porous and flaky.
Excellent for new concrete to give a long lasting weatherproof transparent surface.
Has a low surface tension, making it very invasive so enabling it to penetrate well into the surface up to a depth of 1.5mm to 3mm.
Acid and alkaline resistant and is unaffected by salt spray.
Eliminates spots, stains and streaks due to moisture penetration of soot, grime or weather conditions.
Does not change the breathing characteristics (circulation of air through the wall).

SURFACE PREPARATION:

All surfaces must be clean, free of any surface coating and dry before application.

APPLICATION:

Application shall be by low pressure spray, brush or roller applying sufficient material to allow a run down of 150mm to 300mm depending on the density of the surface. Over-spray or splashing on other exterior oil or water based paints is harmless and can be left without damage. RENO DRY or RENO DRY 2R can be applied at any temperature, dries within hours and becomes fully effective within 24 hours.

COVERAGE:

Application should be made at the rate of 1 to 2 metres per litre depending upon porosity.

NOTE:

Dense masonry may not accept RENO DRY or RENO DRY 2R at this rate. Such surfaces should be given two coats and the coverage extended to 1.5 to 2 metres per litre. At least 2-4 hours should be allowed between coats.

METHOD STATEMENT:

For application on brick or stonework.

Brush down to remove dirt.
Power wash if necessary.
Moss or algae to be treated with RENO ANTICIDE.
Mask up all areas not to be treated.
Starting at the top of the building, the application of RENO DRY or RENO DRY 2R is done in 2 coats by brush, roller or low-pressure spray, sufficient material is to be used to flood coat the wall and allow to run down 150mm to 300mm (depending on the density of the surface).
Applications to be at the rate of 1 to 2 sq metres per litre for the 2 coats (depending on the porosity and density of the substrate).
A third coat may be necessary on substrates that are very porous.
At least 2 to 4 hours should be allowed between coats.

Protective clothing, gloves or goggles and protective mask must be worn.
